Welcome!

My name is Paul Carney. I have been airbrushing for the last 17 years. In that time, I have operated everything from yard sales, to flea markets, boardwalks, mall kiosks, amusement parks and my own studio. I currently own and operate Old Orchard Beach Airbrush, at the entrance of Palace Playland, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Old Orchard Beach Airbrush, can be found all over the New England area during different times of the year. We are at the state fairs, (Farmington and Fryeburg), car shows, local festivals, and sporting events all over Maine. We also paint events like bar mitzvahs, and birthday parties. I also have a studio in Biddeford, working on canvas portraits as well as custom automotive murals.

A Little Business Philosphy

Each artist that becomes part of the Old Orchard Beach Airbrush team is trained and lead by myself and fellow artists. There is immediate hands on involvement that continues on into day to day operation and learning, in other words, "on the job training". I believe that T-shirt painting and the resulting skills that are learned, will allow anyone who desires to branch off into any artistic field that they choose. If you're not learning something new everyday, you're not paying attention. Understanding of color and composition, rendering and lettering, cartooning and more, are all skills one can use anywhere in the arts.

Each artist is paid for the work that they produce. The more that you paint, the more you make. The more types of items you can airbrush on, the more money you can make airbrushing. I encourage and develop an atmosphere of creativity and sharing among the artists. Each individual brings a distinctive style to the store. I think that with each additional style, we can all learn something new from each other. This sharing brings with it the understanding that we are all here to help, learn and grow together.

Old Orchard Beach Airbrush is efficiency, creativity and good times. Work should be enjoyable and fun. The designs we paint are clean, well executed, and always of the highest quality. Retail Airbrush Items

We can paint anything you'd like from an idea you have, a funny saying, etc. The retail store in Old Orchard Beach has over 500 hand painted designs to choose from. We can also paint a design from an idea you have, or from a photograph.

We use 50/50% Heavyweight shirts for the children & Adult size shirts, in color white. If you would like to have us paint on a colored T-Shirt or item that is any light color, you can bring the item to us. *While we can paint on dark colored items, the extra labor involved takes more time, and adds to to regular price of a design.*

Custom Airbrush Work

The distinction between "custom" airbrush work and "regular" airbrush work, isn't so much having your name on the item, or having the name in script instead of print. The latter two individualize the item for you, but we don't consider these to be custom. It is an everyday occurrence for us to airbrush someone's individual shirt or item.

We consider an item custom airbrush work if we don't have an example of what you want in our portfolio, or we are working for an illustration or photo you bring to us. This type of work could be on a t-shirt, license plate, a hockey helmet, or the hood of your car. Many of our clients are custom motorcycle enthusiasts that want a unique paint job to make their ride stand out in a crowd, and we do not dissapoint.

All items are hand painted, so the more detail in a design, the longer it takes to paint. The price range depends upon the amount of detail in a given design.

Events & Parties

People ask us all the time if we are available to paint at their children's Birthday parties, Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, Sporting Events, Corporate Events, and Family Reunions. We are available to paint for such events in our "off season", from September 10th through approximately June 10th. There are some exceptions to this time frame, so give us a call or drop us a line to book your event.

We can create custom designs to fit the feel or theme of any party. The most popular items to have airbrushed are T-Shirts and Fleece (sweatshirts). We also offer items such as baseball caps, keychains, and boxers.
